The Sunny Shack Business CardsMarch 5th, 2010

Trevor at The Sunny Shack has had some business cards printed up. We did them at a reduced height, which I am totally in love with at the moment.

The Sunny Shack have set themselves up with an online shop so you can buy their amazingly priced, authentic sunnies outside of eBay now. Check it out here: Sunny Shack Website

*I’ve removed some of the details to protect Trevor’s privacy.

Walking with Attitude – Trophy Illustration DesignFebruary 16th, 2010

Walking with Attitude are a fabulous new client that I have recently started working with. As soon as I heard that there was a dog in the office I knew these were my kind of people!

Not only are they fabulous and their company really well run and inspiring, but the projects I get to work on are so much fun.

Visit Walking with Attitude’s impressive site by clicking here.

Their programs help people get motivation to live an active lifestyle. You input the reading from your pedometer (or any other non-walking exercise)  into the system and it will “walk” you through some pretty amazing locations (Europe and USA just to name a couple). Being able to exercise with others – and have a support network is inspiring enough even for ME – a person who’s physical exertion in a day can only be attributed to trips to the fridge.

When you complete sections, you get trophies for your cabinet. There’s a new “Go Green” challenge. (Read about it here)

Here are the trophies I created for the “Go Green” challenge.

Email Flyer Design – Metalicus SaleFebruary 4th, 2010

Anyone out there a fan of Metalicus? Their products are amazing – no ironing, no folding, no hanging – and they are so stretchy and comfortable (and look great which is a bonus). Rosanne stocks a huge range in her three stores. If you’re interested in going on the mailing list to get notifications of sales like the one below, shoot me an email and I’ll make sure you are in the loop.

Environmental Freelancing Logo DesignFebruary 4th, 2010

This job was completed just before Christmas for Bethany at Environmental Freelancing. She was chasing a brand identity that played on the idea of the word “freelancing” – (which is based on the medieval mercenary warriors) and combined the “environmentally conscious” nature of the work she undertakes.

‘The cards were printed onto recycled stock using soy based ink. The letterheads are set up in a word document so they are only printed as required (also onto recycled stock) and the splash page acts as a location for promotional material to be stored – negating the need for further printed marketing material.

The splash page is a very cost effective way to get an online presence that enables easy updating of information (in this case, a new PDF is uploaded whenever the information changes).

Invitation DesignJanuary 28th, 2010

Sometimes working for friends means you can do some really fun design work as they are accepting of the more crazy ideas and are often willing to let me do stuff that’s just not.. normal.

Colin and Donna are two of our most favourite people. They are celebrating their first anniversary and have their first bubba due in the next few months.

Colin: “Bec, can you do our invites”
Bec: “I would love to – what do you want on it”
Colin: “What do you think? We just want it to be purple to go with the theme of the party”.
Bec: “Imagine if I put a party hat on your ultrasound pic – hahaha how ridiculously silly”
Colin: “Doooo it!!!”
Bec: *runs off to work before he changes his mind*

Tattoo Design 2 – Little LizardJanuary 28th, 2010

I have a trusting bunch of friends/family who want me to create tattoo designs for them. This is a huge privilege that I am still a little flabbergasted over, I mean – normal website design or logo designs aren’t so..    permanent!

This design was created for my good friend Pauly. She was my old boss back in my uni days working in fast food and is the most amazing person. She asked for a tattoo design of a gecko for her foot, so I gave her a couple options (considering the lady loves purple – in a crazy way):

These were revised to be green with purple spots:

Which Pauly said she loved, so I was happy but nervous at the same time – sometimes people (especially friends) say they love things even if they don’t, because they don’t want to upset me. Time passed – no word of the tattoo for over 6 months. I was SURE this was one of those cases.

Last week – completely out of the blue -  I got a phone call from Ms Pauly herself to say it had been done.

It’s come up brilliantly. I would never have imagined you can get those greens in real life. The tattooist has done a great job with it!!

Thank you Pauly for trusting me with such a long term project. Love to you!

Kel’s Menswear Instore Signage DesignJanuary 12th, 2010

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Years holiday. We just got back from the Southbound festival and now it’s time to get stuck back into some work.  Please excuse my absence from my blog for so long!

This year is going to be a bit tricky for me and my blog. I’m doing an increasing amount of work for companies that require confidentiality as to the projects I am undertaking. If you are interested to see some of these, I have physical samples which I can share in person.

In the meantime, I’ll keep you updated with the few clients I am able to share – one of them being Kel’s Menswear. They are running a huge suit sale just in time for the school ball season which is definately worth checking out. Our friends at Signarama Joondalup have helped us out again with some great large format print pricing and some excellent reusable hanging options.
