HealthyChart Design Work – Products Coming SoonMarch 5th, 2010

I’ve been working with Margaret from HealthyChart for a few months now, designing and creating her concept products.

These magnets help parents to motivate their children to exercise, eat healthily and drink enough water in a way that’s fun and family friendly. You can read more about it here (you can also register your interest to order via sending Margaret an email). Healthy Chart Website

We’ve worked together to design everything from the ground up, from the logo through to the magnets and product packaging. It’s been an exciting project to work on and I can’t wait to see the first lot of samples which should be hit my mailbox this week.

There are two sets – one for children 4 – 7, another for the 8 – 11 year olds.

Each set comes with all the magnets that you see below. Each set comes with 108 tiles.

This is the A4 instruction card that goes in with the magnets:

I’m a huge bright colour fan so this project was right up my ally.

Email Flyer Design – Metalicus SaleFebruary 4th, 2010

Anyone out there a fan of Metalicus? Their products are amazing – no ironing, no folding, no hanging – and they are so stretchy and comfortable (and look great which is a bonus). Rosanne stocks a huge range in her three stores. If you’re interested in going on the mailing list to get notifications of sales like the one below, shoot me an email and I’ll make sure you are in the loop.

Environmental Freelancing Logo DesignFebruary 4th, 2010

This job was completed just before Christmas for Bethany at Environmental Freelancing. She was chasing a brand identity that played on the idea of the word “freelancing” – (which is based on the medieval mercenary warriors) and combined the “environmentally conscious” nature of the work she undertakes.

‘The cards were printed onto recycled stock using soy based ink. The letterheads are set up in a word document so they are only printed as required (also onto recycled stock) and the splash page acts as a location for promotional material to be stored – negating the need for further printed marketing material.

The splash page is a very cost effective way to get an online presence that enables easy updating of information (in this case, a new PDF is uploaded whenever the information changes).

Invitation DesignJanuary 28th, 2010

Sometimes working for friends means you can do some really fun design work as they are accepting of the more crazy ideas and are often willing to let me do stuff that’s just not.. normal.

Colin and Donna are two of our most favourite people. They are celebrating their first anniversary and have their first bubba due in the next few months.

Colin: “Bec, can you do our invites”
Bec: “I would love to – what do you want on it”
Colin: “What do you think? We just want it to be purple to go with the theme of the party”.
Bec: “Imagine if I put a party hat on your ultrasound pic – hahaha how ridiculously silly”
Colin: “Doooo it!!!”
Bec: *runs off to work before he changes his mind*

Kel’s Menswear Instore Signage DesignJanuary 12th, 2010

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Years holiday. We just got back from the Southbound festival and now it’s time to get stuck back into some work.  Please excuse my absence from my blog for so long!

This year is going to be a bit tricky for me and my blog. I’m doing an increasing amount of work for companies that require confidentiality as to the projects I am undertaking. If you are interested to see some of these, I have physical samples which I can share in person.

In the meantime, I’ll keep you updated with the few clients I am able to share – one of them being Kel’s Menswear. They are running a huge suit sale just in time for the school ball season which is definately worth checking out. Our friends at Signarama Joondalup have helped us out again with some great large format print pricing and some excellent reusable hanging options.

Have you been to Storm in a Teacup yet?December 16th, 2009

The loyalty cards have been delivered, nearly all the electrics are working, the shop is looking fabulous and the girls behind the counter are super-friendly. Have you been in to check it out?

It’s only a small space but I think Rosanne’s done a fabulous job utilising every single nook and cranny to create something that is a completely different shopping experience.

Poster DesignDecember 4th, 2009

I’ve continued my experimentation with some different graphic techniques. This poster is created using vectors (apart from the distressing technique) , which means it can be scaled as big as you can imagine – with no loss of quality. Oh how that makes me happy.

If your planning a Lute Festival in the remainder of this year, give me a call.
