Walking with Attitude are one of my favourite clients. The idea behind their business is fantastic, the briefs I get are a huge amount of fun, and they are lovely to work with. I’ve just finished the map and trophy design for their September walking challenge “The Ghost Files”. The route will feature 17 of the UK’s most haunted buildings. eep!

You can check the challenge out HERE.

This one is definitely worth checking out. The stock that Rosanne has put on sale is brilliant quality stuff (and it all STARTS at 25% off. Amazing!).

I’ve been doing some research into the implementation of tessellating patterns. I’ve always had a huge soft spot for them – and this has grown after spending 5 years working for a textile artist (the lovely Rosanne Dowland). Illustrator makes the design, creation of implementation of tessellating patterns really easy. Their new pixel grid alignment system means that getting these patterns to display perfectly on web is a walk in the park.
Here’s yesterday’s effort (Click it, go on!):

It’s been 2 months since my last blog. I’ve been working feverishly lately to hit a number of design deadlines.
Unfortunately, as usual, a lot of these projects I am not able to share online due to confidentiality agreements – hence the sound of crickets over here on the blog. I’m tweeting (alot) over here: TWITTER
Back in April I upgraded my Adobe Creative Suite to the new version of CS5. The new features such as content aware fill (Photoshop), independent corner rounding (InDesign) and pixel grids (Illustrator) really make this a worthwhile upgrade. I’ll be sharing some of these cool features in upcoming blog posts.

Louvlier is a branding client I took on back in August 2009. I’ve held off on posting any of the design work until it got a little closer to product launch time…. and here we are. I’ve produced the logo, business cards, letterhead, invoicing template and now the fancy new website.
This website is one of my first which utilises Ruby coding. The back end of this website features a product management system that is ridiculously easy to manage, and simple to use. I’ve “been around” when it comes to website admin sections and this one has stolen my heart… I plan to do a blog post in upcoming weeks detailing how it all works.

This was my first full vector project using Illustrator CS5 – this graphic is 100% vector with no PS fix ups so is infinitely scalable (take THAT 300dpi!). You can click the image below for an even bigger view.
I absolutely love CS5. It’s such a step up from CS4. The new “draw inside” (read: FH’s Paste Inside) is process-changing and really does enable a lot more flexibility.
This was my first attempt at a family crest… and I think it turned out pretty well. The surrounding fabric is referenced heavily from the Grand Royal Coat of Arms of France. See {HERE}
